We have previously mentioned the Titanic in the article, though this is yet another important picture of the liner. This is believed to be the last image taken of the ship before it succumbed to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Everyone knows by now that it sunk after it collided with an iceberg on a trip from Southampton to New York City. Records show that there were about 2,224 crew and passengers on board and 1,500 of them died. The accident is among the deadliest commercial maritime disasters in modern times.
