Massive Crowds Gather for the First Woodstock, 1969
The Woodstock Music & Art Fair is usually just shortened to Woodstock. The music festival began in 1969 and even Coachella has yet to top its status as the most legendary music festival ever. It became famous as the image of the so-called ‘flower power’ movement. The event amassed an audience of over 400,000 people! While it was originally scheduled for the weekend of August 15 to 17 in the Catskills, everyone enjoyed themselves so much that the revelries did not end until the 18th.

The influential surrealist Salvador Dali was born in the Catalonian region of Spain. He is best known for his masterpiece ‘The Persistence of Memory’, the famous painting with the melting clocks set against a desert. The artist was highly creative and knew how to promote himself. He often came up with new ways to call attention towards his body of art.
