Chris Evert actually started playing tennis at the tender age of five years old! How impressive is that? She has been a world champion starting from the year 1974 until 1981! In 1976, she was also hailed as the first “Sportswoman of the Year” by Sports Illustrated. She might have retired from playing but she has since turned to working as a coach, ESPN analyst, and businesswoman. Interestingly, she and Serena Williams share the record of six US Open championship wins.
