Many aircraft owners customize their paint jobs so that their planes reflect their personalities. It’s a natural thing to do, and it makes for some wild photographs. Generally, standard airplanes just don’t cut it. While commercial versions may never depict such colors and styles, personal owners often want to do something imaginative and different.

Some of the aircraft are so innovative that it shocks others. To tell the truth, we were highly impressed! You can find all sorts of options, including private and jumbo jets. If the owner wants it, someone can design it. This is sure to be an exciting list!

Sea Turtles Flying

This is the first of three A380s for ANA (All Nippon Airways), and it just left the Hamburg, Germany Airbus Paintshop. You can see the Hawaiian sea turtles on it. All of the A380s should be painted and depict sea turtles native to the area.

Oh Canada

You see this Royal Canadian CF-18 Demo Jet for the Air Force. It has a beautiful maple leaf, and the plane is painted the hallmark red color of Canada. This plane was revealed at the 2017 RCAF Anniversary Air Show for the 150th anniversary.

This Boeing 737-800 is painted just like a duck for Nokair. It’s a fun and crazy paint job, and the airline is famous for its innovative options. In fact, it has many planes painted to look like wildlife. Still, this is one of the coolest options.

Dream Chaser 5 is the private jet you see below. In fact, the Lear Jet was donated by a management and aircraft charter called International Jet Aviation. It’s used primarily to fly ill children throughout the world to get wishes, so it’s got a special place in our hearts.

NATO Tiger Meet

During the ’03 NATO Tiger Meet, the world met this bad boy. The plane is a Mirage 2000RDI, and you can even see the slight glint in the eye of the tiger. Though this plane broke down and never flew its mission, it’s still amazing to see.

Finding Nemo

If you have ever watched Finding Nemo, you understand what this plane is all about. Pink Aviation owns this beauty, which is located in the Czech Republic. The Short SC-7 Skyvan 3-100 might look odd, but you can’t think of anything but Nemo finding his friends.

A-10 Warthog Christmas

The Warthog is designed in battle-gray, but the Fairchild Republic A-10 wanted something different. It’s a personalized Warthog that definitely turns heads and features Christmas wreaths, reindeer, and the classic red/green color combination associated with the holidays.

Clay Lacy Aviation owns the “SexyJet,” which is a chameleon-like color pattern. On the custom aircraft, you have a full-sized galley for hot/cold foods, fold-out work tables, power outlets for your equipment, and a private bathroom. It’s amazing!

Alien Tiger Hind

During the NATO Tiger Meet in 2016, you could have seen this aircraft. It was called “Tiger Hind” and won for the best-looking award. While it’s a helicopter, the custom paint job makes it one of the most amazing options we’ve seen all day.

The Digi-camo paint job found on this Russian fighter jet might be the sleekest paint scheme so far. If you know the US Air Force well, you might have seen something similar on a USAF F-16. Regardless, it’s excellent and beautiful.

We think this is a C-130 Hercules airplane, and you can see the amazing attention to detail that went into making it look like a Duracell battery. While it’s not super intricate like others, it’s still efficient and strange enough to make you stop for a second.

F-16 Fighter Jet from the Royal Netherlands

The Royal Netherlands Air Force has an aerobatics display team with many colorful planes. This one was used by the Demo team (which is no longer in service). Its orange tones make it quite impressive, and the man flying must be one of the top choices.

The Mi-24 is a large artillery/attack helicopter, and the Hungarian Air Force chose to paint theirs to be slightly intimidating. It’s quite fun and appealing once you get over the shock of seeing an eagle  in the sky.

Southwest Airlines travels through Denver a lot, so it decided to create a plane designed for the trip. You can see the state flag of Colorado represented, and it might just be the crispest and cleanest aircraft so far.

Gulfstreams are the most expensive private jets, though they’re all high-priced. Regardless, this is a G550 that got an amazing paint job. You can see how the light shade at the nose changes to dark, and then the iconic symbol (Nike) is on the tail.

Most people don’t associate Alaska with Disneyland, but the Alaska Airlines partnered with the top destination point in the world to commission a plane. You can see Tinkerbell and automatically can’t wait to get to the park for some fun.

The Warthog is one of the most intimidating aircraft options on the market. It’s the size of a small vehicle and is very bad news for the enemies. This one is painted with a snarl, so you know it wants to chomp up the bad guys and spit them out.

We’re not sure what’s happening here, but this is a Skyvan 3-100 Short. You can clearly see the oversized teeth, there are weird lips, and this is an incredibly funky color scheme. Regardless, someone enjoyed crafting it, and the pilot doesn’t seem to mind!

The British Are Coming

You can see the British Aerospace Hawk T-1A here, and the UK Royal Air Force uses it. They definitely feel patriotic. This is a single-engine jet trainer built in Britain. The first was flown back in 1974, and it’s been used for training ever since!

You can see the amazing bald eagle painted onto this F-15E fighter jet for the Oregon National Guard. This jet fighter focuses on superiority and has a perfect record for air-to-air combat. In 1972, the first one took off, and it’s been part of the fleet ever since.

This is a beautiful aircraft painted to look like a butterfly and was made for a private prop aircraft in Arizona. The gradients of orange, yellow, and red contrast nicely with the wing angles of blue. It’s magnificent to behold!

The Concorde travels at Mach 2, but this Pepsi aircraft was a custom paint order, so it couldn’t actually travel that quickly. Planes must be white, so it can only go about 1.7 Mach. Still, that’s amazingly fast. We’re sure they serve Pepsi-Cola on the trip.

Toy Story

Those who love Buzz Lightyear are sure to appreciate the 30-foot mural of him on the side of this airplane. China Eastern Airlines partnered with Pixar to give one of its planes a makeover that looks stunning. Passengers receive themed boarding passes, too!

This plane is from the Rossi Airlines and Amur Tiger collaboration. It’s a Boeing 737 with a gorgeous tiger right on the nose. Painters needed about 500 kilos of paint to finish the project, which tells you how enormous it all is. Plus, it was free-handed!

The shark face on this plane might make people rethink their trip. It might have worked better on a submarine or ship, but the detail is still amazing to behold. This is the only shark in the world that can fly, and it’s a Warthog A-10, so it sees a lot of action.

This is a vintage military airplane that looks just as natural as the shark in Jaws. Aside from the jokes, it was amazing work. We’re sure that whoever painted it was proud, and they did a fantastic job, as well.
