A TV show producer heard of the touching story and decided to help them look for the little girl. It was the team behind the TV show The Real who were able to find the girl. They then got in touch with Maroney to shedule their reunion on the set of The Real.

When they finally found out who the “Katrina Girl” was, they invited the subjects of the famous photograph for a reunion.
