Everybody seemed happy but Steve knew he was just putting on a brave face. “I had a high school graduation the next night, went to it, actually spoke at the graduation, went to all the parties, did everything.” Steve recalls.

Then it all exploded. Steve approached his ‘parents’. Confrontation ensued and Steve had to go. “I ran away. Got into a car and drove to the nearest town, which was 20 miles away, rented a motel room… with my friends.”
