Amelia Earhart
You likely remember Earhart as the aviation pioneer and the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone. She wanted to fly around the globe, but she disappeared with the navigator, Fred Noonan. Amelia was declared officially dead about 1.5 years after the disappearance.
