She became famous for her roles in shows like Coach and So Little Time. She played the role of the mother to the Olsen twins in the latter. Carey played the skater in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. She also had roles in the movies Aquarius and Jericho.

She is a successful cabaret singer who portrayed Fran in Crocodile Dundee. Sadly, this was her last film before her death in 1999. Fans loved her as Flora Simpson in Harper Valley PTA. She also played the Evil Queen in the 1979 musical adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
