‘Crocodile Dundee’ Stars: Life Updates Post Show

It was on April 30, 1986, that “Crocodile Dundee” made its debut in Australia. Not too soon after, on September 26, 1986, it premiered in the USA. It actually became the second-highest-grossing film in America that year! If you thought that was amazing, just wait! It was also the second highest grossing film worldwide. There were over 46 million tickets sold in the US alone! Can you believe that? So, you are probably wondering how such an interesting story became a movie. Well, the lead actor is actually the story writer. It was Paul Hogan who played Michael J. “Crocodile” Dundee.”

So, now that you have some background, let’s take a trip down memory lane and find out just what the stars have been up to since the movie’s first initial release.

John Meillon

He was adored by everybody in the show as partner Wally. He also played the same role in the second Crocodile Dundee movie. Unfortunately, it was his last ever role because he would pass away in 1989.

Aida Turturro

She will always be remembered as Janice Soprano, but Aida Turturro played a minimal role in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. No one expected that she will get a role in this phenomenal series, but she did. She worked on the movie after her stint as Janice in The Sopranos.

She was Simone in Crocodile Dundee, but people recognize her more as Valerian in the Dragonslayer, which went on to win two Oscars. She actually began her acting career in this Disney movie!

Clarke died at the age of 52 from cancer. Before she died, Clarke was able to work on more movie projects like Blown Away and The Big Picture. In 1997, she landed the role of Charlotte Cardoza in the Titanic Broadway musical. She was last credited for the film Never Again.

Mark Blum

Ah, another bad guy on the list. He was great at playing the role of Richard Mason, one of the evildoers who held affection for Sue in Crocodile Dundee. We might have hated his character, but someone had to do the job.

After his Richard Mason role, he was part of the cast in Coin Heist and Mozart in the Jungle. Blum is also a fitness advocate now, urging people to be fit, healthy, and happy. He set himself as a good example by avoiding any vices. He starred in Gus and Al for which he won an Obie award. He is presently a faculty member at New York’s HB Studio.

Dennis Boutsikaris

He was a cast member of Crocodile Dundee II as Bob Tanner. He then went on to narrate audiobooks and he even won two Obie Awards and an Audie award. He also played a couple of roles in Billions as Kenneth Marverine and Shameless as Professor Hearst.

Maggie Blinco

She was part of the first two Crocodile Dundee films as Ida, but this was not the big break in her career. A Country Practice, 1915, and Return to Eden were where Blinco first displayed her acting skills.

She then starred in more movies like Check to Check, Doctor Doctor, and Flirting. Blinco made a comeback on the big screens as she was given the leading roles in The Greening of Grace and a play called Biddies. Just last year, she played the titular character of a short film called BABA.

Terry Gill

He had the role of the primary superior kangaroo shooter in Crocodile Dundee. Since then, Gill has acted in 71 movies before he died at the age of 75. That’s definitely an amazing achievement.

Steve Rackman

Wrestling fans probably know him as Crusher in the 80’s. He was Donk in the movie Crocodile Dundee, who is unforgettable for kissing Paul Hogan’s character. Rackman continued to play the character for the next two sequels until he went back home to Australia. He didn’t audition for this role, it just so happened that someone contacted his manager searching for the ugliest, loudest, mongrel-like wrestler.

Rackman became a personal trainer in his own gym in Australia. Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles was his last movie gig. After the movie, he and his partner established two gyms in Sydney. Later in 2010, the couple retired.

Stephen Root

Crocodile Dundee II was his big break as an actor. He played the DEA Agent, aka Toilet. Since then, Root starred in a plethora of TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, King of the Hill, The Man In the High Castle, and The West Wing. He also had an acting role in Dodge Ball: True Under Story, NewsRadio, and Office Space. He also played the significant role as Jim Hudson in the critically-acclaimed Get Out.

Ritchie Singer

He was only part of the first installment of the movie as Con. Singer only had three acting jobs before this movie. These credits were for Palace of Dreams, The Story of Johnny O’Keefe, and Bliss. Luckily for him, he had a lot of offers since then!

He had a minimal stint in the first Crocodile Dundee movie. However, his career only blossomed after. VelJohnson was cast in Die Hard, Die Hard 2, and Family Matters. He has worked on a lot of other shows since then, but the best-known is his role as Dash in Hart of Dixie.

David Franklin

He was not that popular among audiences of Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. People knew better him for his other roles, like in a TV show called Farscape as MeekloBraca and as Brutos in Xena: Warrior Princess. Franklin also played Sean Gardiner in Crownies.

Rick Gonzalez

He was one of the gang bangers in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. He then proceeded to get more significant roles like portraying as Timo Cruz in Coach Carter, Ben Gonzalez in Reaper, and Naps in Roll Bounce. His latest role was Rene Ramirez the Wild Dog in Arrow.

Charles S. Dutton

His character in Crocodile Dundee II was called Leroy Brown. He made it quite big in Hollywood. He has been in many movies and shows like Alien 3, Bessie, Roc, and Rudy. Aside from acting, he directed the multi-awarded HBO show The Corner.

Gerry Skilton

He portrayed the role of Nugget O’Cass in all three of the Crocodile Dundee films. Skilton chose to retire after shooting these movies. However, he revived his career in 2010 in the reality series called Nugget Gets A Life.

Jonathan Banks

He played a character called Milos in Crocodile Dundee. This did not make him famous as he has already established a name for himself at the time. He had already starred in numerous movies like Airplane!, Beverly Hills Cop, Gremlins, and Flipper.

Susie Essman

Carlos Carrasco

You might recognize him as Barry in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. Since then, his name has appeared in the credits of True Blood and Star Trek: Enterprise. He was also in Twin Peaks and Lucifer. Do you want to hear a fun fact about Billingsley? He performed in Nintendo training recordings in the 1990s!

Alec Wilson

Wilson became an icon due to his portrayals in Crocodile Dundee II and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. He has since starred in Return to Snowy River as Croney. His last project was a TV film called Cliffy.

Paul Rodriguez

Did you know that Rodriguez is also a stand-up comedian? He is, in fact, a part-owner of the Laugh Factory comedy club in Los Angeles. Additionally, he has appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in Blood Work. It would be impossible to talk about him without mentioning his performance in Ali, Tortilla Soup, and Rat Race. Let us not forget the reason he’s on the list: he portrayed Diego in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles!

John Snyder

John Snyder was in the first Crocodile Dundee film as the pimp John Snyder. He has since appeared in various films and TV shows. The actor also lent his voice to several anime and video game characters! We bet you remember him as Aaron Conor in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Damian in Love Sick Diaries.

Christina Totos, AKA Khristina Totos, might not have a long list of acting credits. Nonetheless, she portrayed Rosita in Crocodile Dundee. Irving Metzman

The actor was actually christened Douglas Khan but he decided to change his name to match his character! In fact, his original plan was to change it to suit the role he was currently working on but that did not prove to be feasible. He is best known for his performances in Crocodile Dundee, WarGames, and The Purple Rose of Cairo. He is actually a playwright himself as well.

Next on our list is cab driver Danny from Crocodile Dundee. Rik Colitti came under the spotlight after appearing in The New Mike Hammer and Fort Apache the Bronx. He died in January 2010. His final work was for one episode of Law & Order that dates back to 1997.

This man is actually Hollywood’s go-to helicopter pilot! Yup, he is a trained pilot and has portrayed one countless of times. He has appeared on The Avengers, Gossip Girl, Heroes, Shutter Island, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Suits, and Ugly Betty. Of course, he would not be on the list if he did not appear in Crocodile Dundee II. Sounds like an incredibly sweet job, if you ask us!

Let’s not forget that he was also Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man! Some people reported that he retired this year, but that doesn’t seem to be the case as he appeared in The BBQ and Ladies in Black.

Mette played a New York prostitute called Karla in the original Crocodile Dundee film. In 1982, she decided to tie the knot with actor-director Barnet Kellman. After her stint in the movie, she was able to land a lot of acting gigs in various movies and television shows. However, her last acting credit was for a guest appearance in Monk back in 2007. She seems to have retired.

Paul Greco

Paul Greco was in Crocodile Dundee as a New Yorker, but you probably remember him from The Warriors. Greco was able to make it big during the 80’s and 90’s and he has had a wonderful career. He even appeared in an episode of Miami Vice! Sadly, he succumbed to lung cancer in 2008 at the age of 53.

Serge Cockburn

Serge grew up familiar with the camera thanks to his father George Negus. After all, the world-renowned journalist had his work appear on shows like 60 Minutes. In Hollywood, Cockburn would be known for his portrayal of Paul Hogan’s son Mikey Dundee in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. Three years after the movie was released, he would also be in Danny Deckchair. However, he has not appeared in the limelight since then.

Tiriel Mora

We bet you remember the touristy couple from Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. Tiriel Mora has been busy since she played one half of the pair! These days, he is better known as Martin Di Stasio from Frontline and Dannis Denuto from Castle. He also starred in My Pet Dinosaur in 2017.
